A new mixed crystal of Yb0.14Gd0.71Y0.15COB is grown by the Czochralski method.
Detailed absorption and fluorescence spectral parameters are measured and calculated.
Emission cross-sections are calculated by a combination of the RM and F-L method.
The relationship between spectral properties and crystal structure is investigated.
A maximum CW laser output power of 9.28 W is achieved.
