Extracts of Rhizome of Curcuma longa L. were obtained using supercritical carbon dioxide, ethanol and water as solvents.
High concentrations of phenolics and of curcumin were obtained with ethanolic extraction.
High antimalarial activity was obtained in supercritical and in ethanolic extracts.
Using two steps process allowed to obtain two interesting extracts, a supercritical extract and ethanolic extract with high curcumin concentration and of high antimalarial activity.
