This is the first study on moxifloxacin penetration into human cerebrospinal fluid following intravenous administration.
Ratio of the area under the concentration–time curve over 24 h (AUC) in cerebrospinal fluid to the AUC in serum of moxifloxacin was 0.7 in this case report.
Better cerebrospinal fluid penetration can be achieved when moxifloxacin is given by intravenous infusion and without of the influence of drug interaction.
