Discrete return LiDAR was binned and transformed to canopy height profiles (CHPs)of the same locations along the transects.
LiDAR edge depth defined as where sum of squared differences (SSD) is consistently less than average SSD for that transect.
The field edge depths and LiDAR derived edge depths were not significantly different.
