Mechanistic investigations using differential selectivity have been performed. The fast steps of Heck and Cu-free Sonogashira reaction have been elucidated. The reversibility/irreversibility of the catalytic cycles’ steps has been established. Mechanistic schemes for Heck and Cu-free Sonogashira reactions have been proposed.
