The influence of several variables on finger-joint bending strength were analyzed. Suitable joint configuration leads to possible GL48c strength class or even higher. The most common failure mode occurs along the bondline surfaces of the joint. Longest finger length and smallest tip width give the best results. Good correlations between finger-joint strength and lamella modulus of elasticity.
