Confined bed comminution similar to HPGR may occur in DRC in local areas. Local agglomeration may cause high peak loads on rolls and structure. Peak forces are extremely short time events, lasting for around 20–35 ms only. Peak forces occurred just around 2.5° prior to the smallest crushing gap. Nip behavior depends substantially on kinetic friction factor.
