Novel CTS-Ag+/NH3 physical hydrogels were prepared. The CTS-Ag+/NH3 hydrogels show great comprehensive properties. The formation mechanism of the CTS-Ag+/NH3 hydrogels was proposed. Tensile testing results showed the superb mechanical properties of the hydrogels. CTS-Ag+/NH3 hydrogels show excellent antibacterial activities.
