By-products of Lentinula edodes cultivation had highest lignocellulolytic activity. Proteomic studies indicate dominant glucanase. Lack of data for pectinolytic enzymes in protein databases to identify proteins. Establishment of a first protocol for generation of enzyme preparation from by-products. Optimum for polysaccharide degradation in ligneous biomass at pH 4 and 30–40 °C.
