Rigorous solution to laterally vibrating pile problem in elastic soil media. Shear and compression waves radiated from the pile are formulated. Dispersion condition for the shear waves is formulated. Stiffness and contributing mass and geometrical damping are formulated. Effects of a static axial force and material damping are included.
