A cytochrome P450 with perillyl alcohol and perillaldehyde synthases was isolated. Recombinant protein catalyzed the hydroxylation and oxidation of limonene. The enzyme is expressed in only perillaldehyde type of perilla. Cytochrome P450 isolated in this study might be different from a previously isolated.
