Fe- and Co-doped ZnO nanopowders were obtained by mechanical milling from different starting materials.
The local structural properties were investigated using X-ray diffraction and XAFS.
Progressive incorporation of doped atom into the ZnO wurtzite crystalline structure was observed.
The oxidation states of 2+ and 3+ for Fe atoms and 2+ for Co ones were confirmed by XAFS.
The presence of oxygen vacancies is predicted by EDAX and XAFS.
