We discuss the snow crab as a migratory but sedentary species, and its potential role as an exogenous shock to the SFPZ. We explore future management scenarios for the area in light of this. We highlight the different outcome probabilities of each management scenario relative to the status quo. We hypothesize about future scenarios concerning the Norwegian geopolitical position relative to the SFPZ.
