Froelichia humboldtiana is a common plant in the Brazilian semiarid region. Photodermatitis in goats is associated with the ingestion of this plant. To induce the disease experimental, goats were placed in a pasture composed by F. humboldtiana. Experimentally F. humboldtiana caused photosensitization in goats. F. humboldtiana is a cause of primary photosensitization and low milk production in dairy goats.
