Eight silica treatments were assessed for soil co-contaminated with inorganics and petroleum hydrocarbons, under cold conditions. Reductions in the leachable concentration of metals and the formation of less soluble minerals was observed in treated soils. Treatment of petroleum hydrocarbons was less successful, indicating further treatment is required for optimisation.
