We investigate the effects of acclimation and influent water temperature on swimming location choice in juvenile steelhead trout. We revealed that steelhead trout juvenile avoid both cooled and warmed water. However, after acclimation in cool and warm water, movement responses were different. 3-1) When we added ambient water into the cooled stream tank, the juveniles avoided normal water area. 3-2) On the other hand, when we added ambient water into the warmed stream tank, the juvenile did not show any restrict location choice. Based on these findings, we suggest that water temperature changes may promote swimming location choice in steelhead trout juveniles, depending on the changing patterns.
