The reactivity of nanoscale CMC–Ni/Fe particle under various conditions is studied.

The removal of DBDE by CMC–Ni/Fe NPs is a surface chemical reaction.

pH effect on the removal is also caused by CMC properties and colloidal stability.

The removal of DBDE by CMC–Ni/Fe NPs is not affected by anions a lot.
