Air emissions resulting from five vehicle deployment scenarios, during 2012–2020, for the city of Athens’s are assessed.
Penetration of 10% biodiesel, 10% natural gas and 10% electricity to the energy mix of the vehicle fleet is examined.
The use of biodiesel, natural gas and EVs decreases CO2 emissions by 21.1% compared to 2012 levels and NOx by 57.2%.
A Strategic Zero Carbon Transport Plan for the city of Athens is suggested.
