Bagasse increased relative decomposition rates of sweet orange leaves on soil. Bagasse enhanced leaf dry weight reduction in microcosms and groves. Dry weight reduction declined with distance from sprinkler except bagasse treatment. G. citricarpa was observed and DNA was detected in inoculated leaves after one month. Study on bagasse effect on pathogen survival in diseased leaf litter is worthwhile.
