Electric field modulation of resistive switching and related magnetism in the Pt/NiFe2O4/Nb:SrTiO3 heterostructures

Epitaxial NFO/NSTO heterostructure shows stable bipolar multilevel RS characteristics. Correlation among resistance states and magnetisms can be modulated by electric field. Carrier injection-trapped/detrapped in defect energy levels is the major origin of RS. The magnetisms are attributed to redox reaction of Ni2+ caused by oxygen vacancies. Potential application in multilevel RS memory and novel magnetoelectric devices.
