Tensile stress-strain response of metallic glass matrix composites reinforced with crystalline dendrites: Role of dendrite morphology
详细信息    查看全文
文摘
Plane strain finite element simulations of tensile deformation response of bulk metallic glass composites (BMGCs) conducted. Ductility enhances with aspect ratio of high hardening dendrites. Inter-dendrite space controls post-peak stress response. Obstruction of shear bands by dendrites governs ductility. Enhanced ductility attained in a BMGC with closely spaced, high hardening, elongated dendrites aligned with loading axis.
