Visible light photocatalytic degradation of herbicide (Atrazine) using surface plasmon resonance induced in mesoporous Ag-WO3/SBA-15 composite

Highly ordered mesoporous Ag-WO3/SBA-15 composites were synthesized. Ag-WO3/SBA-15 was morphologically and optically characterized. Presence of Ag in WO3/SBA-15 made the catalyst effective in the visible region. Ag-WO3/SBA-15 was tested as photocatalyst for the degradation of atrazine in water. Catalyst degraded 70% of atrazine in water in 18 min of visible light irradiation.
