A novel HA coating method for 3D chitosan scaffolds was developed. HA was precipitated on scaffolds from concentrated SBF solution by means of microwaves. Chitosan scaffolds were coated with bone-like HA homogeneously through their thickness. HA coating has a favorable effect on preosteoblast adhesion, spreading and proliferation. Osteoblastic differentiation was triggered in the presence of HA coating.
