Switching of optical response in fullerene-doped liquid crystal compounds

Temporal characteristics of a new nematic liquid crystal compounds based on fullerene-doped Mg–phthalocyanine nanocrystals have been studied. A mechanism of a liquid crystal mesophase orientation using a complex formation between fullerene and phthalocyanine has been discussed. It has been shown that the structure exhibits high speed and can be used for display application.
