The prevalence of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) was found to vary in different ethnic populations. Α difference was found in the incidence of hirsutism in women with PCOS of East Asian and Caucasian ethnicities. Ethnic differences in androgen excess and polycystic ovarian morphology were observed in women with PCOS.
