Experimental investigation and modeling through using the solution-diffusion concept of pervaporation dehydration of ethanol and isopropanol by ceramic membranes HybSi
PV dehydration of ethanol and isopropanol by HybSi membranes is studied. Mathematical model for PV through HybSi and zeolite membranes is proposed. Model uses solution-diffusion concept and new parameter: active pores fraction. Optimum thickness of selective layer of HybSi membranes is calculated to be ~50 nm. Dependence of separation factor on feed composition is found to be nonmonotonic.
