Spatial analysis of mineral deposit distribution: A review of methods and implications for structural controls on iron oxide-copper-gold mineralization in Carajás, Brazil
Fractal dimensions suggest different mineralization controls acted in diverse scales. IOCG deposits cluster heterogeneously at scales of < 40 km. Clusters of IOCG deposits form E-W linear trends at scales larger than 40 km. IOCG deposits are concentrated along WNW-ESE, E-W and NW-SE trends. IOCG deposits are located in areas with intermediate to high fractal dimensions.
