Sector collapse in island arc volcanoes: a digital topographic and bathymetric investigation of the Qualibou depression, St. Lucia, Lesser Antilles
文摘
Published 1:25 000 scale topographic quadrangle maps and unpublished bathymetric data are used to derive a digital elevation model (DEM) of the onshore and offshore portions of the Qualibou depression to evaluate quantitatively the morphological and topographic characteristics of a structure that has been attributed to both sector collapse and caldera collapse. The angular shape of the depression, the steep offshore submarine slope, and the length-to-width ratio derived from the DEM are more consistent with a sector collapse than a caldera collapse.
