Two novel PTAC sensors containing chloroacetamides are synthesized and fully characterized. The sensors can be utilized as colorimetric chemosensors for detection of F− ions in dichloromethane. The F− sensitivity is introduced via the amide moiety (the NH proton in particular) upon either protonation or deprotonation. There are obvious fluorescence color changes even detecting F− in solid state.
