OAQ ist the Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education. It has been mandated to support the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) in the accreditation of the postgraduate education programmes in the field of psychology professions. The Federal Law on Psychology Professions (PsyG), which entered into force on 1 April 2013, fully regulates the postgraduate education as well as the exercice of the professions in the field of psychology. By 2018, around 60 postgraduate education programmes must be accredited. In ordert o fulfill in the best ways this challenging mission, OAQ collaborates with the German Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Health and Social (AHPGS).
