Detailed multi-dimensional study on NOx formation and destruction mechanisms in dimethyl ether/air diffusion flame under the moderate or intense low-oxygen dilution (MILD) condition
A coaxial jet burner with hot diluted co-flow was used to model the MILD condition. NOx emission process has been predicted by CFD-CRN method with detailed kinetics. NOx of DME-MILD flame was generated mainly via N2O- and NNH-intermediate pathways. NOx emission decreased with increase in co-flow temperature or oxygen concentration. Ultra-clean performance of the DME-MILD flame has been validated.
