Detection of dexmedetomidine in human breast milk using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry: Application to a study of drug safety in breastfeeding after Cesarean section
An HPLC–MS/MS method for quantification of dexmedetomidine in milk is validated. Dexmedetomidine is undetectable in milk at 24 h after discontinuation of the drug. Breastfeeding can be started at 24 h after dexmedetomidine use in Cesarean section.
