Photoanode: nanostructured Al doped ZnO films were deposited onto ITO. Deposited films are hexagonal in structure with preferentially orientation along (0 0 2) plane. Change in morphology from hexagonal to nanosheet into Al doping. Films are high optical transmittance in the visible region and low resistivity (1.5 at.%). The maximum power conversion efficiency 1.02% was achieved.
