Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are clonal hematological disorders. Micro-RNA-205-5p levels are upregulated in MDS Korean patients. miR-205-5p acts as an oncogene particularly in low-risk MDS. miR-205-5p acts through the inhibition of PTEN.
