Zircon age distribution of diamond-bearing sediments reveal Australian signature. Surface features on alluvial diamonds suggest predominantly kimberlitic origin. Kalimantan diamonds ultimately originate from the North Australian Craton. Diamonds were dispersed during Late Paleozoic Gondwana breakup. If primary diamond sources exist they are likely profoundly altered.
