Mixed-ligand coordination polymers with BIX and bridging dicarboxylate ligands. Common motif is metal-carboxylate strands, bridged by neutral BIX ligands. 1D ladder strands, 2D networks or 3D frameworks with sql, chiral dia or hcb topology. 26-Membered {M2(BIX)2} metallacycle rotaxane-threaded with non-bonded BIX ligand. Example of spontaneous resolution of 3D framework with tetrahedral asymmetric Zn atoms.
