First illustration of combined approach based on ultrasound, ozone and catalyst for degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol. Combined treatment scheme of US + O3 + CuO is the most efficient approach of degradation. Optimization of operating parameters helps in intensifying degradation. Synergistic effect obtained for the combined treatment scheme. Enhanced mineralisation with less toxic intermediates obtained in the combined treatment.
