Inter-process cost study of two metallic Additive Manufacturing (AM) platforms.
Observed high manufacturing costs and large differences in machine productivity and cost.
Results indicate that economies of scale are a reality in AM.
Current machine performance may be due to the technology’s origin in prototyping.
