The sensitive detection of formaldehyde in aqueous media using zirconium-based metal organic frameworks

Formaldehyde (FA) is known to cause many health problems like sick building syndrome. The quantitation of aqueous phase FA has been carried out by the traditional techniques. The advanced fluorescent materials have spurred the development of many sensing devices. We explored the utility of luminescent UiO-66-NH2 for the detection of FA in water. Its post-experiment regeneration efficiency and by-product formation are also investigated.
