Multiple gene and transcript variants encoding trout C-polysaccharide binding proteins are differentially but strongly induced after infection with Aeromonas salmonicida
We characterise the full-length sequences of TCBP1 and -2 from rainbow trout. The five different TCBP1 transcripts are generated through different splicing strategies. Evolutionary analyses separate TCPB1 and -2 based on distinctive protein motifs. TCBP1 variants increased several hundredfolds in liver after Aeromonas salmonicida infection. Reporter gene assays indicate that TCBP1 induces a level of active NF-κB in vitro.
