A 3D discontinuous Galerkin finite element method with the bond-based peridynamics model for dynamic brittle failure analysis

The bond-based peridynamics model with a discontinuous Galerkin weak form is presented for 3D dynamic brittle failure analysis. The corrections of micro-modulus near the boundary and under irregular discretization are developed. The issues of boundary conditions and irregular discretization in meshfree type of bond-based Peridynamics are resolved. Numerical performance and convergence of the present method is demonstrated through numerical examples.
