Competitive displacement reaction between Fe(II) and Cu(II) takes place. Cu2+ complex of 8-hydroxyquinoline-based ligand acts as Fe(II) sensing chemosensor. LOD and LOQ values are calculated as 1.45 × 10−5 and 1.46 × 10−5, respectively.
