USP26 a testis-specific deubiquitinase, is a substrate of the ubiquitin system. USP26 binds to the E3 ligase Mdm2 through its coiled-coiled C-terminal domain. USP26 deubiquitinates Mdm2, stabilizes it, and thus may augment transforming activity.
