A Nd:GdNbO4 crystal was grown by Czochralski method. The C-W laser operation of Nd:GdNbO4 at 1066 nm was reported. A maximum output power of 1.1 W with incident power of 3.3 W was obtained. The results demonstrate good energy capacity of Nd:GdNbO4.
