Synthesis of gold(I) carbodiphosphorane complexes containing the protonated [CH(dppm)2]+ PCP pincer ligand system. Oxidation of gold(I) PCP pincer complexes to gold(III) PCP pincer complexes by chlorine or iodine. Threefold coordination of a gold(III) atom by the PCP pincer carbodiphosphorane (CDP) ligand system C(dppm)2. Characterization of two gold(I) and two gold(III) PCP pincer complexes by single crystal diffraction and by NMR spectroscopy.
