Web crippling of beams under ITF loading: A novel DSM-based design approach

Web crippling failure load of cold-formed steel beams under Internal Two Flange (ITF) is investigated. Direct Strength Method (DSM) curve for web crippling design is originally proposed. Experimental results of ITF tests available in literature were collected. Buckling and plastic loads are calculated using GBTWEB software and yield-line formulas, respectively. Resistance factor f = 0.75 (LRFD) is close to those values proposed in the NAS for web crippling design.
