A methodology to be able to evaluate the risk of sudden failure of a soft cohesive soil is proposed. The effects combined of static and dynamic loading were considered. The proposal of experimental program and the systematic process of analysis to cyclic loading are indicated. It is possible to combine families of curves that make it possible to evaluate the risk of sudden failure.
