Ghrelin modulates gene and protein expression of digestive enzymes in the intestine and hepatopancreas of goldfish (Carassius auratus) via the GHS-R1a: Possible roles of PLC/PKC and AC/PKA intracellular signaling pathways
Ghrelin and GHS-R1a colocalize digestive enzymes in goldfish intestine and hepatopancreas. Ghrelin induces sucrase-isomaltase, aminopeptidase A and lipoprotein lipase expression in vitro. GHS-R1a is critical for ghrelin-induced upregulation of digestive enzymes. Ghrelin actions on digestive enzymes might be partly mediated by PLC/PKC and AC/PKA signaling pathways.
