Both dietary restraint and social appearance anxiety uniquely contributed to binge eating at one time point. Social appearance anxiety mediated the relationship between concern over mistakes and binge eating over six months. Dietary restraint did not mediate the relationship between concern over mistakes and binge eating over six months.
