Reduced scale experimental tests on double column bent piers with coupling beams. Discussion promoted for key response parameters like energy dissipation or ductility. Dominant beam shear failures concurrent with mild column damage were observed. Best results obtained from beams reinforced with the largest slope diagonal rebars.
